ABSTRACT

200 µm, a circumference > 60 degrees, and a cap thickness < 450 µm. The percentage distributions of CT pixel attenuation ≤ 20, 30, 40, and 50 HU were calculated using quantitative histogram analysis.RESULTS: A total of 271 transverse sections were co-registered between CCTA and pathological analysis. Overall, 26 lipid cores and 16 fibrous plaques were identified by pathological analysis. There was no significant difference in median CT attenuation between the lipid and fibrous plaques (51 HU [interquartile range, 46–63] vs. 57 HU [interquartile range, 50–64], p = 0.659). The median percentage of CT pixel attenuation ≤ 30 HU accounted for 11% (5–17) of lipid-core plaques and 0% (0–2) of fibrous plaques (p < 0.001). The sensitivity and specificity of the method for diagnosing lipid plaques by the average CT pixel attenuation ≤ 30 HU were 80.8% and 87.5%, respectively. The area under the receiver operator characteristics curve was 0.898 (95% confidence interval: 0.765–0.970; 3.0% was the best cut-off value). The diagnostic performance was significantly higher than those of the average pixel CT attenuation percentages ≤ 20, 40, and 50 HU and the mean CT attenuation (p < 0.05).CONCLUSION: In in vivo conditions, with the pathological lipid core as the gold standard, quantification of the percentage of average CT pixel attenuation ≤ 30 HU in the histogram can be useful for accurate identification of lipid plaques.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study the shadowing effect when using UWB bio-radar to detect multiple static human targets to solve the problem in multi-target detection. Methods With simulated breathing apparatus as detection targets, the UWB bioradar multi static targets respiration detection experiment was designed, and the influences of distance and angle between targets and its respiratory frequency and amplitude on the shadowing effect were studied.Result The shadowing effect was mainly affected by the relative position of the multiple targets, while the respiratory frequency and amplitude of the target had less influence on it.Conclusion When multi static human targets are detected the shadowing effect does exist, and the effect mainly derives from the block of electromagnetic wave by the front target, while the change of respiratory parameters of the front target has little influence on the effect.

ABSTRACT

To design a new method to simulate the micro-motion of human body surface due to respiration and heartbeat, and to provide detection object and calibration signal for the bio-radar technology. Precision lin-ear module was used to transform rotational movement to linear displacement, with AC servo motor to precisely control the module's rotation. Ultimately, ultralow-frequency micro-motion was produced with its displacement being quantitatively controlled. A system simulating the micro-motion of human body surface was newly built. Compared with the old system, the new one produced micro-motion with better constancy, and realized quantitative control of the motion's dis-placement. The method lays technological foundation for simulating the micro-motion of human body surface due to respiration and heartbeat and may promote the development of bio-radar technology towards intensive and compre-hensive levels.

ABSTRACT

A study on the microbial transformation of glycyrrhetinic acid (GA) was conducted by a fungus, Cunninghamella blakesleeana CGMCC 3.970 systematically. After incubation with the cell cultures of C. blakesleeana CGMCC 3.970 at 25 degrees C for 7 days on a rotary shaker operating at 135 r x min(-1), GA was converted into one major product and five minor products. The products were extracted and purified by solvent extraction, macroporous adsorbent resin, silica gel column chromatography, and semi-preparative RP-HPLC chromatography. Their structures were identified as 3-oxo-15α-hydroxy-18β-glycyrrhetinic acid(1), 3-oxo-15β-hydroxy-18β-glycyrrhetinic acid (2), 7β,15α-dihydroxy-18β-glycyrrhetinic acid (3), 3-oxo-7β, 15α-dihydroxy-18β-glycyrrhetinic acid (4), 7β-hydroxy-18β-glycyrrhetinic acid(5) and 15α-hydroxy-18β-glycyrrhetinic acid(6) by the analyses of MS, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR spectroscopic data respectively. Among them, 2 was a new compound. These results suggest that C. blakesleeana CGMCC 3.970 has the capability of selective ketonization and hydroxylation for GA. ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the effect of clinic-pathological variables on prognosis and recurrence of the aged women suffered from borderline epithelial ovarian tumors. Methods The clinical and follow-up data of 102 cases were analyzed retrospectively. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis were used to assess independent prognosis and recurrence factors. Results The postoperative accessory treatment, peritoneal implantation and lymph nodes metastasis could influence the 5-year survival rate(χ2=19.311, 11.054, 18. 559, all P<0.01). The surgery procedure, peritoneal implantation, lymph nodes metastasis and microinvasion could influence the recurrence rate(χ2=23.606, 23.583, 25.774, 23.583, all P<0.01). The logistic regression model showed that the postoperative accessory treatment and peritoneal implantation were the two independent prognosis factors (OR=0.060, 35.319, all P<0.01). The surgery procedure, peritoneal implantation and microinvasion were the three independent factors affecting recurrence(OR =0.001, P<0.05;OR=60.952, P<0.05;OR=88.874, P<0.01). Conclusions The early standard treatment on borderline epithelial ovarian tumors of the aged women have an excellent prognosis, the risk of recurrence remains in some patients. We emphasize that these patients with highrisk factors should be main surveillance population.
